The NextGen Leaders Program is a comprehensive leadership development initiative aimed at reshaping Uganda's leadership culture by nurturing the talents of high school prefects and young professionals. Drawing from principles of empowerment and service, it provides a platform for youth to develop personal, professional, and spiritual growth. This project addresses community needs through youth-led innovations, aligning with focus areas like mentorship, SDGs advocacy, and governance, and supports the foundation's youth-driven approach to sustainable change.
Activities:
• Convening diverse groups of student prefects from public and private schools nationwide for intensive leadership training sessions, including workshops on strategic planning, ethical decision-making, and project management.
• Pairing participants with mentors from various sectors, such as government, NGOs, and faith leaders, to guide community impact projects like environmental clean-ups or advocacy campaigns.
• Organizing national gatherings for skill-building in areas like public speaking, conflict resolution, and SDG-aligned initiatives, with a focus on inclusive governance and climate justice.
• Incorporating cultural and interfaith elements to promote unity, ensuring projects reflect local needs and Islamic values of collaboration and stewardship.
Impact:
• Inspires and equips over 1,000 youth annually to drive meaningful change, fostering ownership, innovation, and confidence in their communities.
• Participants have launched local projects, such as youth-led governance forums, contributing to the foundation's overall empowerment of 5,000+ youth.
• Enhances long-term societal transformation by creating a network of visionary leaders committed to justice, compassion, and sustainable development.
